Highlighting Marcus’ stance on the diversity of the UK’s commercial real estate market, the article also discussed the oversupply of lower-grade offices, made fit only for redevelopment by new energy-efficiency standards or changing work patterns.
Most UK REITs trade at discounts to NAV, with shares still below where they were a decade ago, despite steady performance updates. Parts of the market (like older offices) face headwinds, but the sector is far broader than that — offices make up only about 5% of total REIT exposure.
